Playdate and a new bicycle

Short entry tonight.

Mary remembered the playdate today . Yesterday, there was absolutely no one else at the playground when the girls and I were there. When we arrived today, there were a lot of kids there (looked like 10-12 year olds) and some parents. They were also having some sort of picnic/barbeque. Mary and I were concerned at first about our little ones being around the older kids, but the older kids were aware of and thoughtful of the little ones, so we didn't need to worry.

The playground sand was pretty dusty, so the girls were just filthy by the time we left. I thought about just wiping them off with baby wipes, but put them in the tub instead when we got home, despite the fact they had already showered with me a couple hours before.

Speaking of the playground sand, the city should do something about cleaning it up. There are cigarette butts in it and God only knows what else. Yesterday, I saw M putting a cigarette butt in her mouth at that playground. Yuck!

Hubby bought a new bike today to replace the one that was stolen a couple weeks ago. He's learned his lesson and will either keep it inside or locked up. It's not the same make/model as the one that was stolen, a Marin Bolinas Ridge, but he's happy with it. He did want another Marin B.R., but the store where he bought it won't be getting a new shipment for at least another week. He couldn't wait, so bought a different brand from a different store.
