GBS & Pregnancy

Monday through Wednesday were so dull, I didn't write any entries.

I just found out that a 2nd cousin's wife is pregnant. Great news and all, but I'm concerned because she had gastric bypass surgery a couple years ago and lost about 100 pounds. She also had a tummy tuck.

So I'm concerned the baby may not get enough nutrition because she eats so little already and also concerned about my cousin's wife's body, if the baby will be able to grow okay in her.

Today is another cousin's 33rd birthday. She's been married twice, divorced twice, and has 5 children by three men. Four girls and one boy. The boy is the youngest.

She was the salutitorian of our class, so she's booksmart, but she has little common sense when it comes to birth control, men, and marriage. She was on the pill as a teenager and wanted to take a break from them. That's when she got pregnant with her first, at age 18 and a freshman in college. She thought there were enough BCpill chemicals still left in her body to prevent pregnancy. Um, hello, that's why you're supposed to take them DAILY! Sheesh.

So she married her boyfriend who cheated on her about a year later and they spent the next year getting a divorce.

Then she met a new guy a year or so later, moved in with him after a month, and had three girls with him. After a few years, she'd had enough of his gambling loser ass and dumped him. The she met another guy, married him, had a baby boy with him, and divorced him because of domestic violence. At least she had enough common sense to get out of that one before he could kill her.

Don't get me wrong, we're close, we grew up together, we're about 5 weeks apart in age, but one has to wonder about her choices in life sometimes.
