Deadbeat Landlords
Hubby spoke with Mark the Landlord tonight and Mark said the problem is between us and our neighbors and that he "doesn't want to get in the middle of it." Excuse me? Doesn't want to get in the middle of it? He's the fucking landlord, for crying out loud! It's his f-ing property and the neighbors are breaking the law and he doesn't want to get involved? What a deadbeat landlord.
Alaska Statutes Title 34.3.4.120(a)(5) of the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act states, "The tenant...may not deliberately...destroy, deface, damage,... a part of the premises... (6) may not unreasonably disturb,...a neighbor's peaceful enjoyment of the premises,...(b)the tenant may not knowingly engage at the premises in...an illegal activity involving a controlled substance...or knowingly permit others in the premises to engage in ... those activities at the rental premises."
So far, the neighbors from hell have damaged the property by slashing our door with a knife, disturbed our peace with their shake-the-house-down music, and smoke pot like there's no tomorrow.
And we're the ones moving out.
What the hell is wrong with this picture?
I hope that the next family that moves in here next walks around like elephants and have four hyper children that wrestle on the floor. Then Randy & Angela will realize how good they had it before. And I hope that family that walks around like elephants with four hyper kids that wrestle on the floor call Mark & Lissa more than we do to complain, bitch, and moan about the awful neighbors downstairs that blast their music and smoke pot like there's no tomorrow.
Once we move out of here, I'm calling the Division of Family and Youth Services to turn their asses in because they smoke pot with a baby in the house. That'll teach them not to fuck with me.
