Tire changeover and movie-going idiots

This morning, hubby drove back out to Palmer to check out a builders' supply business he was interested in applying to. It was closed yesterday when we were out there, so he went back this morning to check it out.

While he was gone, the girls and I went back to Costco to see if they could change our tires to summer tires. We got there before 11 and they were already booked for the day!

So we went to Wal*Mart to buy some more yarn for the afghans I'm crocheting for the girls. I found this really cool yarn there last Wednesday after work when I went to get something to do the next day while waiting at the dental clinic. It's called Baby Cloud, made by Red Heart. It looks like this:

It's thick, soft, and works up quickly. It's what I'm using for the afghans. The girls love it. M's is in this shade and C's is in this shade .

On the way to Wal*Mart, we passed Johnson's Tire Service. I made a mental note to stop there after Wal*Mart to get the tires changed.

Johnson's charged me $62!!! Costco would've been just $16!!! I probably should've just waited until 9 a.m. tomorrow and went to Costco. May 1st was the deadline to get studded tires changed to summer tires. If you get caught with studded tires after 5/1, you get fined $25 per tire.

Oh well, live and learn.

Hubby got home before we did and went to Costco to look for us. Oops! He said he wasn't too impressed with the business but asked for an application anyway. He doesn't think he'll return it.

Mom and Step-dad watched the girls for hubby and me this afternoon so we could go watch X2. Pretty good movie.

But, let me just say, Century 16 is a ripoff. On weekends, their matinee price ends at 2:00. We got there at 1:45, hoping to get into the 1:50 showing. Unfortunately, that showing was sold out. The next available time? 2:20. That's right, we had to pay full price. For two of us, that meant $17.50. The price of a large popcorn and large soda? $9.00.

And let also say that people with small children who can't or won't get a babysitter shouldn't bring their children to the theatre. There were two people across the aisle from us. One was holding an infant and the other had a toddler or preschooler. The infant cried occasionally and the other one started singing at one point. Another patron a couple rows behind us very loudly said SHHHHH!!!! Then, near the front was another child. FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, PEOPLE, GET A BABYSITTER OR STAY HOME!!!

Plans for tomorrow: Take the girls to the Imaginarium to learn about insects, make the car payment (M got ahold of the payment coupons the other day with a pair of scissors! ), and take the girls to the sitter's.
